Come as you are.

There is no dress code. Our gathering takes place in a space that is comfortable and relaxed. We will pray together, sing together, read scripture together, reflect together.

What To Expect at Rise

What is Sunday Worship Like?

Our aim is to create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and accepted. We believe in the beauty of gathering together as a community to worship, pray, and learn from Scripture.

Our worship typically begins with everyone coming together to sing uplifting songs, read and reflect on Scripture as a community, and join together for a time of communion. This collective time allows us to connect with each other and with our faith in a meaningful way.

What Does Rise Believe?

Rise is part of the First United Methodist Church of Escondido. The United Methodist Church is a global denomination that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world. The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. To learn more click here.

Do You Get Together During the Week?

We believe spiritual growth happens best when you are journeying along with others in authentic and thoughtful relationship. Groups meet in homes, coffee shops, and the church. Take the next step to join one of our groups by clicking here.

Is There Anything for Children?

On Sundays, children from 3 years old to 6th grade first join adults for worship. Afterward, children are invited to the Godly Play where trained teachers guide them through biblical stories. They reflect on these stories and finish up with a snack together.

In our nursery, we create an exciting atmosphere for our youngest members. We have toys suitable for their age, interesting Bible stories, and fun group singing activities.

Is Rise an Inclusive Space?

The world is a divided place. Sadly, the church often feeds this spirit instead of putting us back together. Rise is committed to doing better. One of the big issues of division in the church today is around the welcome, inclusion, and co-powerment of LGBTQ+ persons.

We want to be clear because a lot of churches aren’t.

We are a faith community where LGBTQ+ persons are welcomed, wanted, and empowered. Rise is committed to the full inclusion, at all levels of involvement from worship to small groups to church leadership, of LGBTQ+ persons and all persons seeking to live life with God.
